Mrs Ball's theatre

Mrs Ball visited this afternoon to tell us something's about behind the scenes at theatre. She explained about practise times and makeup and costumes. She had Louise be her model with makeup, mike and battery pack.

Welcome to Term 4.
I have uploaded most of your fantastic videos of your stories from last term.  I will upload these to the blog this week.
The class / teacher laptop is at the 'fix it' shop so things are a bit chaotic. Trying to work between the Mac book, iPads and my missing PC is fun!
I am looking forward to an exciting term, production, Grandparents Mass, testing, reports and camps.  We have a lot to squeeze into 9 weeks.

Kate's whanau visit us today

Today we had a special visitor, Kate's 3 month old baby sister, Emily. Her little brother Marcus also came into the class. Dad is up in Auckland... I hope he sees his favourite girls and boy on the blog.

Today we had a visitor to talk to us about his work for Caritas. He told us it was a Catholic group that helps to support all those who need help, food, clothes, education, justice and so on. Thank you for sharing, we learnt lots

Janna and Louise did a computer skills test and Janna got a High Distinction and Louise got a Distinction. They got in the top 1 and 5 percent of the whole of New Zealand. They were very excited to get these awards.

Bullying Lessons

Constable Neil; visited our class. He talked to us about bullies, how to stand up to a bully, what to do, who to tell... We all practised saying "Stop I do not like it". We also practised how to move away from someone holding our sholder. Constable Neil told us the importance of walking tall, walking with confidence and being aware when walking.

Is there a mouse in my house!!!!

Mrs Rush thinks she saw a mouse at home tonight. She quickly put the kids in the car and raced out and got a mouse trap (sorry I usually am kind to God's creatures - but I do not think I will sleep tonight).....
Maybe it is time to get another cat.

Digital Citizenship

Today we were learning about digital citizenship. We are all digital citizens when we are online like Knowledge Net, Facebook, Moshi Monsters, Tut put....
We discussed how safe we are on the internet, what detail about ourselves we should not put on blogs and other sites. Lots of us have really good rules at home to keep us safe on the internet.
We had real good fun using the activotes and want to use them lot more in class.
Mrs Rush spoke like a computer and we got to do drum rolls....

We also looked at what we should put on our own blog, like not using full names only our first names.

Rena rubble at Waihi Beach

When Mrs Rush was on holiday at Waihi Beach some unexpected visitors turned up at the beach.  Containers and milk powder was washed up from the Rena after it broke up.  Check out the photos!!
